With the Sunspot cycle between Cycle 23 and 24 conditions continue to be very quiet. Local conditions were excellent with Jerry RC1024 in St. Boniface making contact with Alex RC121 in Stonewall, MB via Jerry's handheld. Mobile stations outside the city were easily heard across the city.

No DX tonight - very quiet conditions. Bitterly cold in Winnipeg -29C plus a cold Arctic wind. However, this did not stop Jerry RC1024 from checking in via his handheld SSB radio outdoors!

Some DX guests tonights. American Kangaroo 01, Danny, and Boca 06, Dan, from Tulsa Oklahoma checked-in. Boca 06 was listening and enjoying some of Doug's recipes. The Boca DX Group has a check-in every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays at 7PM CST on 27.505.

No DX tonight but reports of localized noise. Heard from three inactive members tonight. Glad to hear you on the radio again.

Some DX rolled in earlier today from Maui Hawaii. Two Maui stations were making the trip 721 and 000. Don (RC1604) tried making contact but the Maui stations were experiencing a heavy pile-up from the mainland.

Some DX rolling in tonight. Possibly due to recent solar activity:
- AURORA WATCH: A solar wind stream hit Earth on Oct 28th, sparking no full-fledged geomagnetic storm but auroras anyway over northern Europe, Canada and Alaska. From spaceweather.com
